What is the AAPCM?
The AAPCM (Australian Association of Procurement and Contract Management) provides services to it members in certification of professional competence in the professions associated with procurement, contract management and purchasing.

AAPCM's membership grades
AAPCM uses the Australian National Competency Standards for procurement, developed by the Australian government's Industry Skills Councils, as the basis for determining its member level. To be accepted for a membership at Qualified Member level or higher you must have a minimum procurement qualification at the Certificate IV level.

AAPCM's professional certification program
AAPCM also uses the Australian National Competency Standards for procurement as the basis for its certification process. These are available for the Public Sector and the Business Sector.

AAPCM's certification framework provides a robust means to recognise an individual’s qualifications and experience as a procurement and/or contract management professional against these standards. Certification therefore provides significant benefits for the individual and for the employer organisation. Available certifications are:

The actual level of certification level available to an individual member depends on qualifications and experience of the individual. The level is assessed by an experienced, approved AAPCM assessor . Remember, certification is only available to members of AAPCM with a membership grade of Qualified Member (and above).

The Bayley team has a number of AAPCM approved assessors who can assist candidates to achieve professional recognition from the AAPCM.  Candidates should contact the AAPCM directly to apply for a certification assessment, but be sure to ask AAPCM for a Bayley assessor!
